- Robin Lake will discuss "What Can be Done at the State Policy Level to Ensure Quality Charter Schools," at the National Conference of State Legislatures Summit, July 26, in Louisville, KY.
- Dan Goldhaber addressed the Seattle League of Women Voters Education Committee regarding teachers and teacher quality issues, April 27, 12 pm, at the League Office: 1620 18th Ave., Suite 101, Seattle.
- Marguerite Roza joined a panel of experts to discuss and debate the twisted trail of school-level funding on May 4 at an Urban Institute event, The Big Disconnect: Spending Policies, School Priorities, and Student Achievement.

- CRPE and the DC Special Education Co-operative hosted a book forum and networking opportunity on May 24, featuring CRPE's new book, Unique Schools Serving Unique Students: Charter Schools and Children with Special Needs (ed. Robin Lake). Find out more about the event.
- Creating a New Teaching Profession, edited by Dan Goldhaber and Jane Hannaway, was the subject of a Book Forum, Promise and Pitfalls: Creating a World-Class Teaching Profession, hosted by the Urban Institute on April 19. Panelists included Joel Klein, Randi Weingarten, David Monk, and Andrew Rotherham. You can listen to the event here.
- Dan Goldhaber discussed the importance of good teachers for student achievement at a Brown Center on Education Policy event, Creating "America's Teacher Corps". March 15, 10:30 am-noon, at the Brookings Institution in DC. Goldhaber and fellow panelists later provided policy briefings to the Senate HELP committee, the House Committee on Education and Labor, and the Department of Education.
- All Students Achieving through Reform Act of 2009. Robin Lake testified before the US House Committee on Education and Labor, regarding H.R. 4330, legislation that would create a new competitive grant to expand and replicate successful charter schools. February 24, 2010.
- What Research Says about School Budgets. Marguerite Roza presented at the Education Writers Association 2010 Research and Statistics Bootcamp, co-sponsored with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and WestEd, February 25-28, 2010, Arizona State University. Information can be found here.
