Kelly Hupfeld is Associate Dean at the School of Public Affairs, University of Colorado Denver, and a research assistant professor affiliated with the School’s Buechner Institute for Governance and the Center for Education Policy Analysis. Previously, she worked as Director of Policy for the Public Education & Business Coalition and as Senior Policy Analyst at the Bighorn Center for Public Policy, and maintained a consulting practice on education policy. Her research interests include education systems and governance, teacher and principal evaluation, school finance, charter schools, and encouraging innovations in education. She earned her JD in 1991 from Northwestern University School of Law, and practiced labor and employment law before becoming involved in education policy.
