Patrick Murphy is Professor of Politics at the University of San Francisco. His research focuses on public management, finance, and public policy issues. He has published in the areas of K-12 education, higher education, and illicit drug policy. His current research examines how state education agencies are organized and manage their resources. Since 2004, he has served as an adjunct fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California. Previously, he worked for the RAND Corporation and the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Murphy received his Ph.D. form the University of Wisconsin and a MPA from the University of Texas.
