Teachers, Teacher Quality, and Human Capital Project
The Teachers, Teacher Quality, and Human Capital Project focuses on a broad array of human capital policies that influence the composition, distribution, and quality of teachers in the workforce.
This body of work focuses on policies and interventions designed to upgrade the skills and quality of the nation's teacher workforce. Lines of inquiry to-date have included studies of the impact of licensure and compensation policies on teacher labor markets and the teacher workforce; the human capital systems of public schools and their impact on school system recruitment and selection of teachers; and the extent to which value-added methods can be used to gauge teacher effectiveness.
