Melissa Bowen

Research Analyst

Melissa Bowen is a Research Analyst at the Center on Reinventing Public Education. Her current projects include a study of the implementation of School Improvement Grants (SIGs) in one state and the National Charter Management Organization (CMO) Effectiveness Study, an ongoing initiative to better understand how CMO practices influence schools and student achievement. She has also studied how state and federal finance structures can be designed to better support student performance. Ms. Bowen holds a B.A. in Social Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Washington.
