About Our COVID-19 Work
When the nation’s schools closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CRPE made it our priority to provide ideas and evidence on how to ensure students could continue learning.
Since March 2020, our researchers have continuously tracked how districts are responding to the crisis, regularly adding new indicators as the nation’s focus shifted from spring remote learning to summer school to fall planning. We’re currently looking at districts’ 2021-22 reopening and rebuilding strategies, including learning acceleration, use of data, access to technology, teacher supports, parent and community engagement, new learning models, and support for student, family and staff wellbeing. We’re also cataloging state guidance, with a focus on the critical role states can play in ensuring all schools and districts are prepared to support student learning.
The Center on Reinventing Public Education is a nonpartisan research organization and part of the University of Washington Bothell. CRPE is one of the nation’s leading sources for transformative, evidence-based ideas to improve education and ensure all students are prepared for the future. Learn more about CRPE here.
