This webinar provides a deep dive into the portfolio strategy, the importance of school autonomy within a district context, and the conditions that make a district a promising choice for Carnegie Corporation of New York's "Opportunity by Design" initiative. Offered as districts are drafting their proposals to Carnegie Corporation, the webinar is an opportunity for districts to learn from Paul Hill, the architect of the portfolio strategy, and the CRPE team. The webinar outlines a successful district's continuous improvement cycle and supports for school autonomy aligned to Carnegie Corporation's school design principles. CRPE staff also shed light on the district readiness rubric and their process for assessing district capacity. Lastly, the webinar provides a short list of recommendations for how an Opportunity by Design school district might support new school designs, and CRPE's role in supporting grantees.
