Measuring School Efficiency: Educational Return on Investment: A Case Study of An Urban District

How do we measure how well different schools are doing with respect to how much we are spending? There are a variety of methods to assess the relationship between educational investment and educational outcome, as well as a large body of literature on the topic. This article examines a few of these methods, then focuses on a Return on Investment (ROI) model to assess the efficiency of an urban district. The authors conclude by describing the utility of the ROI indicator for education leaders and policymakers.
